Synonyms[1]

Pterostylis umbrina, commonly known as the broad-sepaled leafy greenhood, is a plant in the orchid family Orchidaceae and is endemic to New South Wales where it grows on the Southern Tablelands.[2] It was first formally described in 2006 by David Jones and given the name Bunochilus umbrinus. The description was published in the journal Australian Orchid Research from a specimen collected near Black Mountain.[3] In 2010 Gary Backhouse changed the name to Pterostylis umbrina.[4] The specific epithet (umbrina) is derived from the Latin word umbra meaning "shade" or "shadow".[5]
