The smallscale redfin (Pseudobarbus asper) is a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae. It grows to around 12 cm and is endemic to Southern Africa where it is found in slow flowing pools with rocky bottoms.[1] It is threatened by habitat destruction and the impact of invasive species.
Smallscale redfins are generally found in medium-sized shoals. They breed during summer when they move into faster water to deposit their eggs.
