Proechiniscus hanneae is a species of tardigrades. It is the only species of Proechiniscus which belongs to the family Echiniscidae.
The species is endemic to Greenland. They are mainly founded around Disko Island.[1]
The species were named by Børge Petersen in 1951 and was a species of Pseudechiniscus, it became placed with its own genus of Proechinscus by Reinhardt Møbjerg Kristensen in 1987.
