The Prime Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is the head of government of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
In constitutional referendum held in 2017, citizens voted in favor of transferring Nagorno-Karabakh Republic into a Presidential republic. The incumbent President Bako Sahakyan's term will end in September 2017. In July 2017 the National Assembly will elect the President for the next three years until the next general election which will be held in 2020.
The office of Prime Minister will be abolished in September 2017 and the President will become the head of government.
