Preston-under-Scar is a village and civil parish in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3 km) west from Leyburn. Village population is 120, increasing to 170 at the 2011 census.[1]
At the south of the village stands Bolton Hall, the seat of the Barons Bolton.
The Wensleydale Railway passes 1 mile (1.6 km) to the south. The railway station – Wensley station – is now in private hands.
There are remains of the old lead mining industry in the nearby Condenser Wood.
