Post hoc

Post hoc (sometimes written as post-hoc) (a shortened style of post hoc ergo propter hoc) is a fallacy within which one event is alleged to be the reason for a later event just because it occurred earlier. It is also referred to as the fallacy of the false cause or the argument from succession alone.
