Pooja Sharma (born 1989, New Delhi) is an Indian model and actor. She is best known for her role as Draupadi in the mythological TV show Mahabharat.

Early life and career

Pooja was brought up and raised in Delhi. She was always interested in acting and performing arts more than modeling. During her college days, she was selected for a sports-based talk show in Doordarshan India. She thought she was not doing well in the show, but someone from the team told her that she had the makings of an anchor. And after some anchoring auditions for Zoom, she was selected. After anchoring, she did some TVCs, walk the ramp. Pooja sharma was the top 10 finalists in Femina Miss India 2006.

Sharma made her acting debut from Star Plus Teri Meri Love Stories with Karan Kundra. She played a role on Pavitra Rishta as Samaira. As she was a host and due to her voice and looks the casting director of Mahabharat called her asked her to come for the audition. At the first place she was not interested but after director's repeated insist she gave the audition and immediately got selected for the role of Draupadi. The role was proved as turning point of her career as the show became very successful and performance was praised by critics and audience. [1][2][3][4][5]

She made cameo appearance in Ajab Gajab Ghar Jamai and Dosti... Yaariyan... Manmarziyan.

Currently, Sharma is playing the role of Mahakali/Parvati/Adi Shakti Mahakali– Anth hi Aarambh hai.[6]
