Ponderosa High School, which opened in 1963,[2] is a member of the El Dorado Union High School District in El Dorado County, California, United States. It is located on Ponderosa Road, Shingle Springs, a semi-rural location.

In the 2005–06 school year, there were 2,061 students enrolled. Ponderosa's mascot is the Bruin. The principal of Ponderosa is Lisa H. Garrett,[3] with Darren Slojkowski, Serna Teixiera, and Jeremy Hunt as assistant principals.

Sports

Ponderosa High School offers many sports programs, including football, volleyball, soccer, and track and field. The school is in the Division II Capital Valley Conference.
