Piestinae Erichson 1839 are a subfamily of Staphylinidae.[1]
Anatomy
- body elongate and depressed, abdomen parallel-sided.
- antennae inserted under shelf-like corners of frons

Ecology
- Habitat: many species under bark of decaying trees.
