Picato Musician Strings
Picato Musician Strings is a British string manufacturing company, mainly for acoustic, classical, electric guitar and bass guitar. They also produce strings for other stringed instruments, such as banjo, mandolin and ukulele. Picato strings have been hand-crafted in Britain since 1960. When Tony Iommi lost the tips of two of his fingers in an accident, the Picato company designed an extra low gauge string set (.008 - .032) especially for him.[1] In the 70s Picato strings were used by many famous rock guitarists and bassists, such as Ritchie Blackmore,[2] Roger Glover[3] and Eric Clapton.[2]
