Cycle chronology

The second cycle of Philippines' Next Top Model (subtitled as Philippines' Next Top Model: High Street) premiered on March 21, 2017 on TV5. The series was initially not picked up by RPN after its first season in 2007. In 2013, Solar Entertainment put an effort to produce a second cycle, but later on cancelled the series. The show announced in late 2016 via Facebook that it would be returning in 2017 on TV5.

The second cycle was presented by actress and model Maggie Wilson, who took over from model and beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez. The judging panel was also fully revamped, consisting of Miss International 2016 titleholder Kylie Verzosa, Rainer Dagala and Raphael Kiefer.

The winner of the competition was 25-year old Angela Lehmann from Bicol.

Auditions

Auditions were held in Baguio, Mandaluyong, Cebu, Davao, in January 2017. Applicants were also encouraged to apply for the competition online if they were unable to make an appearance at the live auditions.

Episode 1

The semifinalists of are thrown in to castings where they introduced themselves to the judges. After the judges deliberate, they chose the contestants that will move on to the next part of the competition.

Episode 2

Original airdate: March 28, 2017

The twelve contestants had some posing tips from the judges while being photographed. The picture were then used as the cycle's promotional poster. Afterwards, the girls headed to the venue of their photo shoot, where they would be posing underwater. At panel, Jan was deemed the best while Ina and Janelle landed in the bottom two. In the end, Janelle was the first one to be eliminated placing 12th.

Episode 3

The remaining 11 contestants had some runway tips from their special guest Wilma Doesnt. After learning the tips, the contestants show what they learned. Wilma reveals that Jan did the best in the challenge. This week the girls had a videoshoot in which Janny excelled. At elimination, it were Aivie and Shekie that landed in bottom two. The judges saved Aivie, leaving Shekie being eliminated placing 11th.

Episode 4

The remaining 10 models had their makeover in which Jan refused to transform her hair with bangs. She said she already tested that style and she didn't like it so she refused to do the makeover which the judges are disappointed. At the elimination, it was Ann and Jan landed in bottom two. The judges saved Ann from elimination while Jan was left being eliminated from the competition placing 10th.

Episode 5

After this episode, the contestants will be judged with scores. The models have to pose together with cats. At panel, Kim and Ann landed in the bottom two with Kim being eliminated by a point and placing 9th.

Episode 6

The remaining 8 girls took part in an eye-opening character challenge which was won by Aivie. At the model house, Sarah decided to leave the competition.

Due to Aivie's win, she had an advantage to pick clothes that she would wear while shooting. And with an extra minute of time. The girls then went into their photo shoot where they have to pose in an androgynous look with Jullian Culas as male model. At panel, Angela and Janny were deemed as the best. Blaise and Adela-Mae received lukewarm reactions while Ina, Ann and Aivie were deemed as the worst of the week. Angela received first call-out and was granted a shopping spree by SM Woman. Aivie and Ann landed in the bottom two with Ann being eliminated placing 7th overall.

The remaining girls had a go-sees challenge with several clients around the city, which was won by Janny. They later had a photo shoot showcasing neon-colored make-ups in the dark which was photographed by Maggie Wilson, the show's host. Each girl only has 30 frames to rock the shoot except for Janny who got 10 more for winning the challenge.

At panel, Adela-Mae received her second first call-out. Ina and Janny landed in the bottom two, with Janny being eliminated placing 4th overall. This week, the show put some sneak peeks on the photo shoot for their cover shoot next week.
