Philippine economic miracle

Philippine economic miracle

The Philippine economic miracle refers to the ongoing rapid economic growth in the Philippines that started in 2010 after the Great Recession. It is characterized by a resurgence in the country's manufacturing sector, emerging middle class supported by remittance inflows and business process outsourcing, and a booming real estate market. During the early 2010's, the Philippines registered the second fastest growth rates among major developing countries in Asia. According to the 2012 World Wealth Report, the Philippines was the sixth fastest growing economy in the world in 2010 with a GDP growth of 7.3% driven by the growing business process outsourcing and manufacturing.[1]
