Petr Topychkanov

Petr Topychkanov is a Russian researcher, professor, and current fellow at the Carnegie Moscow Center's Nonproliferation Program.

Petr Topychkanov served in the Russian Armed Forces from 2003 to 2004.[1] He received a Bachelor of Arts in South Asian Studies from the Institute of Practical Oriental Studies in 2003. He then attended Lomonosov Moscow State University, receiving a Master of Arts in South Asian Studies in 2006 and a Ph.D in 2009.[2]

In 2009, he worked as a senior researcher at the Center for International Security at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2014, he joined the Center's Information Security Problems Group and became an expert at the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). He is also a participant of the Program on Strategic Stability Evaluation at the Georgia Institute of Technology and an associate of the South and Central Asia Project at the York Centre for Asian Research in Toronto, Canada. He has worked at the Carnegie Moscow Center since 2006.[3]
