The Permanent Presidential Music Commission (PPMC) of Kenya is a government Commission established to promote the development and practice of music and dance; spearhead the growth and development of the music industry and to contribute to the understanding and preservation of Kenyan musical arts and expression.[1]
Change to Department
It was established in 1988 to study ways and means of developing and preserving music and dances in Kenya. In the year 2008, the Ministry of State for Public Service transformed the Permanent Presidential Music Commission into Department of Music under the Ministry of State for National Heritage and Culture [2]
