Periglypta is a bivalvia genus of molluscs in the family Veneridae.[2][3]
Species
According to WoRMS, this genus has got only seven extant species,[4] in additional to five fossil species listed in fossilworks,[1] they are listed as below:
- Periglypta albocancellata (M. Huber, 2010)
- Periglypta caesarina
- Periglypta caribbeana
- Periglypta corbis (Lamarck, 1818)
- Periglypta crispata (Deshayes, 1854)
- Periglypta listeri (J.E. Gray, 1838) — Princess Venus clam
- Periglypta multicostata (G. B. Sowerby I, 1835)
- Periglypta puerpera (Linnaeus, 1771)
- Periglypta reticulata (Linnaeus, 1758)[5]
- Periglypta tamiamensis
- Periglypta tarquinia
- Periglypta weegeeree
The following two species was listed under Periglypta but now listed under Antigona:[4]
- Periglypta chemnitzi (Hanley, 1845)[5] is now Antigona chemnitzii (Hanley, 1845)
- Periglypta sowerbyi (Deshayes, 1853) is now Antigona sowerbyi (Deshayes, 1854)
In additional, Markus Huber (2010) mentioned that Periglypta and Antigona are synonyms, but Chen et al. (2011) rejected such opinion.[4][6]
