Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, or PVMHS, is a public high school located in Peabody, Massachusetts located at 485 Lowell Street.
Academics
Vocational Technical Program
The Vocational Technical Program offers course in electronics, cosmetology, culinary arts, auto body, carpentry and business.
Air Force Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps
THE AFJROTC program is a military-based set of courses for students interested in pursuing a military career.
College preparatory
The college preparatory classes at PVMHS have allowed students to go on and succeed at some of the most prestigious universities in the country. Graduates from the classes of 2007, 2008, and 2011 are currently attending Harvard University in Cambridge, and notable 2009 graduates are attending North Shore Community College and Salem State.
Graduation Assistance
The Community High School is a Special Education Day School that assists students with Emotional, Behavioral and Specific Learning Disabilities. The school is a therapeutic environment with extensive differentiation to help student succeed. Small classes and focused behavioral programs assist students in reaching their goals to complete high school.
Stage One: The Drama Club at PVMHS
Peabody Veterans Memorial High School's theater program, known as Stage One, is one of the most well-known in the state of Massachusetts. For over three decades, Stage One has competed in the Massachusetts State Drama Festival, run annually by the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild. In 1970 Father Frank Toste CSC, a PVMHS faculty member, founded Stage One at PVMHS. In January 1994, Mr. Richard Carey was hired to be the new director, while Mrs. June Kessel came on board as Stage One advisor. Both Carey and Kessel continue their roles through the present. The company is highly praised and puts on three shows a year: a fall show, a Festival home show which competes at the METG Drama Festival, and a spring musical.
