Tatwa Prakash Satapathy, better known by his stage name Papu Pom Pom (Odia: ପପୁ ପମ୍ ପମ୍), is an Indian film, television, jatra actor, Standup Comedian and an Odisha Legislative Assembly candidate.[1] Satapathy has acted over 15 Odia movies.[2]

Early life

Satapathy was born in Kaptipada, Mayurbhanj district, Odisha.[3]

His father is a high school headteacher and performing artist.[4]

Satapathy has pursued a BSc degree in Chemistry from Udala college. During those days he won the position of dramatic secretary in his college.[5]

Politics

Satapathy joined politics and got a ticket from Biju Janata Dal for Champua Odisha Vidhan Sabha constituency for the assembly election 2014, beaten by the Former Congress Senior Leader and current independent M.L.A. candidate Mr. Sanatan Mahakud.[6][7][8][9].Now he is not in BJD because BJD dispell from the party over casting couch controversy

Casting Couch Controversy

On 30 June 2016, Satapathy was arrested for casting couch along with his friend Pradeepta Swain by a special squad after a few days of cat-and-mouse play. He was nabbed from Pradeepta's apartment in Puri. An underage aspiring actress complained a week earlier that Satapathy misbehaved with her and even threatened to stall her career if she doesn't co-operate.[10]
