Orthetrum taeniolatum[2][1] is an Asian freshwater dragonfly species. The common name for this species is small skimmer.[3][4] Its range of distribution spreads from eastern Europe to China, and the species itself is locally common throughout the range.[1]

It prefers medium to slow-flowing marshy streams. Adults are common around open rocky and sandy beds of the streams.[1][5][6][3][4]
