Orisha Sound is the stage name of Orisha Pelzer (born June 21, 1988), a recording artist based in Los Angeles.

Early life

Orisha Sound was born June 21, 1988 in Oslo, Norway and then moved to Saint Petersburg, Russia. At age four, Orisha Sound started practicing the violin, piano and singing.

Musical career

Orisha Sound's debut single was “Beautiful Sin”.[1] In 2012 she signed a deal with RBC records for the album Cupid [2]

Orisha has worked on stage and in the studio with a number of recording artists including Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Sizzla Kalonji, and Beenie Man, amongst others.

The album Cupid was produced by Billboard Platinum producer, Andrew Lane and Jamaican producer, Shel-K. Songs were written and co-written by Orisha Sound and recorded in Boom Boom Box and Brandon’s Way (Los Angeles), Mixing Lab and Tuff Gong (Kingston) and Melodia (Moscow). Two songs from the album – dancehall track “Embrace It” featuring Sizzla Kalonji and one-drop “Sunshine Lady” featuring Wayne Daniel had some success on Kingston-based CVM TV's Hit list chart ([3]

Orisha Sound’s second album, 1 Reggae, was released online only on October 28, 2014 on the Black and Yellow Entertainment label. The album features reworkings of tracks from Cupid as well as new material. 1 Reggae includes appearances from Beenie Man, Sizzla Kalonji and Anthony Que.[4][5] [6]

“World War Three” featuring Grammy winning King of the dancehall Beenie Man was released at the end of 2013 by Black and Yellow Entertainment and Zojak Worldwide.[7][8]

Acting career

Orisha has appeared in the short films “Holding Back” and "Katrina on Rewind".[9]
