Opera Coast is a free web browser developed for iOS devices by Opera Software. The browser is not based on any former product of Opera and is written from scratch. It is also designed for touch while traditional browser buttons and components such as tabs, history, and bookmarks are eliminated and replaced by gestures.[1][2][3]

History

Opera Coast was first released in September 2013. An iPhone version followed in April 2014. [4] In February 2016 Opera announced an Android version of the Browser. [5]

Security

An embedded security mechanism has been implemented in Opera Coast which includes several security aspects, like certificates, site reputation, URLs, browsing history, and page content, and the user will be warned if any risk is detected.[1][2][6]

Synchronization

Opera Coast is designed to automatically perform synchronization using iCloud. The synchronization keeps the tiles on the home screen to be same.[1][2]

Localization

Opera Coast is fairly localized so far. The latest version of the browser is available in 32 languages.
