Once Upon a Time (Chinese: 三生三世十里桃花) is an upcoming Chinese romantic drama fantasy film produced by Alibaba Pictures and directed by Zhao Xiaoding and Anthony LaMolinara. It is based on the fantasy novel Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms, also known as To the Sky Kingdom,[3] by TangQi Gongzi.[1] The film stars Liu Yifei and Yang Yang.[4] Originally slated to be released in China on July 21, 2017,[5] the film's release date was later pushed back to August 4, 2017.[6]
Plot
This is the story of Bai Qian, a goddess and monarch from the Heavenly Realms. In her first life, she was the disciple of Mo Yuan. Due to a devastating war, Mo Yuan's soul was destroyed while sealing the Demon Lord. Seventy thousands years later while Bai Qian was trying to reseal the Demon Lord, she was sent to the mortal realm to undergo a trial to become a High Goddess. There, she meets Ye Hua with whom she falls in love and eventually married. However, their love ends tragically. World later, the two star-crossed lovers meet again as deities but all her memories have been erased due to her request. Ye Hua, who is now a crown prince black dragon 90,000 years younger than Bai Qian, gets a second chance at love with her.

Production
On June 16, 2015, it was announced that Liu Yifei will play the leading role of Bai Qian / Si Yin / Su Su.[7] The role of Ye Hua, the male lead, was announced to be portrayed by Yang Yang on October 29.[8]
Principal photography started on December 18, 2015, and wrapped in March 21, 2016.[9][10] The dress design of the film was Lawrence Xu.[11]
Release
The film is scheduled for release in China (August 3), Vietnam (August 4), Cambodia (August 4), Australia (August 4), North America (August 11), Malaysia (August 17), London (August 18), Singapore (August 24), Germany, Thailand, South Korea (in September) and Japan.
Box office
The film's opening day gross was CN¥175 million.[12]

据猫眼数据显示，《三生三世十里桃花》首映日拿下了1.75亿票房的好成绩，超过《战狼2》首日1.02亿。并且《三生三世十里桃花》是在上映前，预售就已经破了1亿，开了一个好头。
