Omar Bugiel (born 28 November 1996) is a German footballer of Lebanese descent who plays for Forest Green Rovers.

Career

Bugiel was a youth player at TSV 1860 Munich before moving to England aged 15 with the aim of learning English. He enrolled at Chichester College[1] and was part of the youth team at Chichester City.[2]

He then joined Selsey, his time there including a short spell at Burgess Hill Town,[3] before transferring to Bognor Regis Town and then Worthing.[4]

After prolific goalscoring form over four years at the Rebels, he was signed by Forest Green Rovers in February 2017 for an undisclosed fee.[5] Bugiel was part of the Forest Green side that were victorious in the National League play-offs at the end of the season. He made his English Football League debut against Barnet on 5 August 2017.

Bugiel is eligible to play for Lebanon through his father, and was called up by the Lebanon national football team in May 2017 for an AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Malaysia,[6] but did not play.
