The Old Mission Dam, located in San Diego, California was the first major irrigation project on the Pacific coast of the United States.[2] Located along the San Diego River,[5] the stone and cement dam is 220 ft long (67 m), 13 ft wide (4.0 m) at its base and 12 ft high (3.7 m). Water was released for a sawmill and irrigation at the Mission San Diego de Alcalá, 5 miles (8.0 km) away.[6][7]

It is now part of Mission Trails Regional Park, the largest municipal park in California. Old Mission Dam is also a registered state historic landmark.[2][3]
