Oaxaca FilmFest
Oaxaca FilmFest is an eight-day long international film festival held every autumn in the colonial Mexican city of Oaxaca since 2010. The festival is composed of various categories and offers a large space in its selection to emerging directors and screenwriters.
History
The first edition of the festival was held in November 2010. Started as a unique collaboration between the private and public sectors. The festival is currently an annual self sustainable event.
The Festival has been hailed by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the Top Festivals in the world numerous times and has included the works of many high profile artist such as Guillermo Del Toro, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Spike Lee, Neil LaBute, Diego Luna, Takashi Miike, Martin Scorsese, Bill Plympton, Donald Sutherland, and Luke Wilson.
The Festival has also been responsible for the discovery of great independent projects such as Una Noche and Krisha.
