Twofour is a UK independent media group that was founded in 1989 by Charles Wace, a former TV news producer. With headquarters in Plymouth, Twofour has offices across the globe including London and Los Angeles.
Twofour is part of Twofour Group. The Twofour Group consists of Boom Kids, Boom Cymru (Fflic, Alfresco, Apollo and Harlequin Talent Agency), Boomerang, Delightful Industries, Natural, Mainstreet Pictures, Oxford Scientific Films, Twofour, Twofour America, and Twofour Rights, following a merge with Boom Pictures in 2013. On 24 June 2015, Twofour Group was acquired by ITV Studios.[1]
Melanie Leach was named Chief Executive for Twofour Group in summer 2014.[2]
Divisions
Twofour
Twofour supplies programming to the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, UKTV and a variety of other UK and international channels.
Twofour is an international award-winning factual, features & entertainment television producer. Twofour was awarded Broadcast’s ‘Best Indie Production Company’ title in 2014 and 2010, with titles including The Jump (Channel 4), multi award-winning The Real Marigold Hotel[3](BBC One/BBC Two) and the fastest selling format of the year, This Time Next Year (ITV)[4] and Channel 5's longest running series, The Hotel Inspector.
The company produces ob-doc and fixed rig shows such as Channel 4’s International Emmy winning Educating Yorkshire, Educating the East End and 2011's Educating Essex. In May 2012, Series Director David Clews was awarded a BAFTA Television Craft Award for his work directing Educating Essex.
Twofour has produced a range of adventure documentaries such as Harry's Arctic Heroes for BBC One and Harry's Mountain Heroes for ITV, both featuring Prince Harry and a group of wounded soldiers as they attempt to reach the North Pole and Mount Everest respectively.
Boomerang
Boomerang produces factual entertainment, popular factual, documentary and sports entertainment programmes from its Cardiff base.
Boom Kids
Boom Kids is one of the largest producers of children’s television in the UK, with expertise spanning pre-school and programmes for children aged 6-13.
Boom Cymru
Boom Cymru creates content for S4C, BBC Wales and ITV Wales.
Twofour Rights
Twofour Rights, Twofour’s in house rights distribution arm, was launched in 2012 and brings the company’s catalogue of programming to the international marketplace.
Mainstreet Pictures
Mainstreet Pictures is a new drama independent run by joint MDs Sally Haynes and Laura Mackie. Mainstreet Pictures produces hit ITV series Unforgotten.
Oxford Scientific Films
Oxford Scientific Films supplies factual and natural history programming to broadcasters around the world.
Natural
Natural is a new factual entertainment label led by Alan Brown.

Awards
This Time Next Year was named the fastest selling format in the world in 2016 [6]and secured a C21 award and Realscreen Award.[7]
The Real Marigold Hotel won a Rose d'Or award in 2016.[8] The series was moved to BBC One for its second series.[9]
Educating Yorkshire won a National Television Award, RTS Award, Broadcast Award for Best Documentary, IVCA Award, a BAFTA Craft award and two BAFTA Television nominations.
Twofour held the title Best Indie Production Company in 2010 and 2014, and secured 1st place in Televisual Magazine's True Indie Survey 2013.
The company has been awarded several IVCA and RTS awards. In 2013, triple BAFTA-nominated Educating Essex won a Broadcast Award for Best Documentary Series.[10]
