Nuevos Ministerios
Nuevos Ministerios is a complex of government buildings in central Madrid, Spain. Ministries based in the complex include the Ministry of Public Works.
History
The site is to the north of the historic city centre and was originally a horse racing venue, the Hipódromo de la Castellana, which closed in 1933.
The development was planned before the Civil War by the architect Secundino Zuazo. However, construction was halted by the war and the architect fell out of favour.[1] The project was completed by a team appointed by the Francoist regime.
