North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League

The North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League is the top level of competition for recreational club cricket in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire area of England. Since 2001 it has been a designated ECB Premier League.[1]

Norton Cricket Club was a notable member of this league and, in its time, employed major professionals like Frank Worrell, Garfield Sobers and Jim Laker. In 2015, its ground in Smallthorne ceased to be a cricket venue as Norton CC merged with Bagnall CC at the latter's Light Oaks ground. This followed a long-running dispute with the Trustees of the Smallthorne ground.[2]

The competing teams for 2017 are: Ashcombe Park, Audley, Betley, Burslem, Checkley, Hem Heath, Leek, Longton, J & G Meakin, Porthill Park, Stone, and Whitmore.
