The North Riding Senior Cup is the county cup in the North Riding of Yorkshire. It is administered by the North Riding County FA.[1] According to the current rules of the competition, it is open to all clubs whose first affiliation is with the NRCFA. A team having entered an F.A. Competition, (Challenge Cup, Vase or Trophy), in the current season must compete in the Senior Cup. Clubs can be exempt upon payment of a fee. Therefore, the lowest tier for compulsory entry are Northern League Division Two, Northern Counties East Division One or other Leagues of a similar status.[2]

The current holders are Whitby Town who won the cup for the seventh time by beating Pickering Town 3-1 at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough. In 2016 Middlesbrough were the winners, lifting the cup for the fifty fourth time by beating Guisborough Town 3-1 at the King George V Ground in Guisborough.

The winner of the cup goes on to compete in the Eric Powell Charity Cup against the Winners of the Durham Challenge Cup.[3] In 2012 Middlesbrough took the title, defeating Spennymoor Town on penalties at Brewery Field.[4] The 2013 match took place on 3 August between Bishop Auckland and Pickering Town with the side from Durham winning 3-1.[5] The 2014 match took place on July 23, 2014 between Guisborough Town and Shildon with the North Yorkshire side Guisborough Town winning 3-1.
