Nnegest Likké is an internationally based, Award Winning film director, screenwriter and producer.

Biography

Nnegest grew up in San Francisco and Oakland, CA and attended Skyline High School. Her father was the famous Ethiopian revolutionary Dr. Senay Likké. Nnegest earned her B.A. in Mass Communications from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is one of 5 women filmmakers in the world to win an African Academy Award for directing the film "Ben & Ara". In 2016, she wrote, directed and produced the award winning "Everything But A Man" starring Monica Calhoun (The Best Man, The Best Man Holiday) and Haitian actor Jimmy Jean-Louis. Her début film was the 2006, Fox Searchlight comedy Phat Girlz which starred Academy Award Winner Mo'Nique and was produced by her career mentor, Robert Newmyer.
