Nicasius of Rouen

File:Ecouis saint nicaise.

Nicasius of Rouen, was the first Bishop of Rouen, apostle to the Vexin and a Cephalophore.

He evangelized the Vexin tribes, and although being Bishop of Rouen seems to have not actually gone to Rouen. He spent one year at Mousseaux and evangelized Rolleboise nearby. He performed several miracles but was martyred with his companions on the banks of the Epte in Gasny,[1] before reaching Rouen. He was probably buried in Gasny.

Saint Mellon, first bishop of Rouen to serve there, would be one of his disciples.
