Nib Crouch, is a Zimbabwean Hip-Hop and Rap artiste from Glen View, Harare.[1]

Early life

Richard Mabgwe was born on May 24, 1991 in Harare, Mbare and stayed at Tagarika flats (Mbare) until age 4. He later on moved to Glen View 3 where he attended his primary education at Glen View 6 Council Primary School.

Music career

In 2014 Nib Crouch released a single titled Harare. It was featured on Zim Rap Cities, Harare Mixtape hosted by Prometheus ad received fair airplay on Power FM radio. On the 31st of October, the following year he released his Middle East Mixtape via his Bandcamp.

Musical style

Influences

Nib Crouch is mostly influenced by the South-Side style of American hip hop.

Personal life

In an interview with Prometheus on Y.G.T's Zim Hip-Hop Report in 2014, he said he was stabbed in a robbery by urchins in Harare's CBD.

  1. In 2015 his single Zvinondibata was voted second Best Hip Hop Single of 2015 by The Lounge Magazine, 2015 Zim Hip Hop Awards Best Online Media Winners.
  2. In 2016 his single Ndakanyanya made it to first place for Best Hip Hop Single of February that year in The Lounge Magazine.
