Nguyenkim Shopping Center (also known as Nguyenkim Electronic Appliance Center) is the largest electronics shopping center (one-stop shop) in Ho Chi Minh City that sells household appliances, refrigerations, computers, recreational, and telecommunications products from world famous brands such as Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Philips, JVC, Sanyo, Sharp, Samsung, LG, Electrolux, HP, IBM, etc. It was established as a small electronics store by Nguyen Van Kim in 1992 and has been developed since then.

History

The company is first founded in 1992 as an electronics store selling audios, videos, major appliances and small appliances. It became the first electronics shopping center in Vietnam in 1996 and changed its name to Nguyenkim Trading Joint Stock Company in 2001. It was ranked 'Top 500 regional retailers' in Retail Asia Pacific Association[1] in four consecutive years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Six major industries are in this company including: audios/videos, major appliances, small appliances, computers, mobiles, and games.

Nowadays, Nguyenkim organizes activities and sales in 15 shopping centers: 5 regional centers in Ho Chi Minh City 1 in Hanoi and An Giang, Binh Phuoc, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Buon Me Thuot etc... In addition, Nguyen Kim founded a General Business Retail Center to sell products for projects, companies,and E-Commerce Center to promote online business.

The Saigon Nguyenkim Shopping Center system was scheduled to be replicated in 38/64 cities, from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Can Tho, Binh Duong, Hai Phong, Da Nang to other provinces across the country.[2] Recently, the company just officially opened a new electronics center in the Thu Duc District of HCMC, on 21 January 2011.[3]
