The village has a population of 5256, of which 2656 are male and 2600 are female, as per Population Census 2011.

Administration

Ngaikhong Khullen is divided into 9 wards and each ward is represented by a Ward Member, also referred to as a Panch, who is directly elected by the villagers. The Ngaikhong Khullen Gram Panchayat is chaired by the president of the village, known as a Sarpanch. The term of the elected representatives is five years. The Secretary of the panchayat is a non-elected representative, appointed by the state government of Manipur, to oversee panchayat activities.

Religion

The main religions of Ngaikhong khullen are Meitei Marup, Hindu and Christian. The majority of people follow Hindu religion. There are five Hindu Temples. The people celebrate Yaoshang, Kang Chingba, Durga Puja and Krishna Janmastami etc. The people also celebrate Umang Lai Haraoba. It is believed that the village is under protection of Ibudhou Khumaba and Thangjing.

Schools

There is only one High School in this village. It was founded by late Shri Thokchom Manichand Singh, a social worker, and philanthropist. There are LP schools in western,northern, southern and eastern regions of this village. The LP School in the eastern Ngaikhong Khullen was founded by late Thokchom Kala Singh, a philanthropist.

Hospital

There is only one primary Health Center in this village. However, there exist traditional system of treatment of diseases using natural herbs. Some specialist in this traditional health cares are:(i) Thokchom Mahadeva( Tiken), He is a specialist in treating apomba( tissue/cell enlarged in body parts).This natural art of treatment inherent from their forefathers,namely Thokchom Nodiya, Thokchom Uputomba,Thokchom Amusana and Thokchom Hemo Singh. Thokchom Hemo Singh, was once a health adviser of Royal Family of Manipur. (ii) Gagu Nobo (Khwairakpam Nobo). He is a specialist in treating kidney stone and Gall bladder stones using natural herbs. The patients from other villages and even outside Manipur used to visit these natural treatment centres.

Pioneers

Thokchom families took part remarkable role in the development of this village. Thokchom Manichand founded Ngaikhong High School.The establishment of this High School brought new light for many students, and drastically reduced illiterate rate. Some students who brought glory in Class X board examination of this school were P. Sana Singh, Laishram Soren, Thokchom Dewan etc.Thokchom Gulap constructed bridge across Ngaikhong river. Thokchom Kala founded Ngaikhong Mamang LP School. Thokchom S. founded church in this village. Another great pioneer in this village is special contractor- Ibobi. He renovated most of hindu temples in this village. At a time, public places like playground, road, grassy field etc were encroached by individuals for personal benefits.Thokchom Surjaboro, Ex. Pradhan and a great social reformer led the public movement to clear such encroachments.
