New York Television Festival

The New York Television Festival (NYTVF) is a yearly gathering of artists, fans, and executives to celebrate independent small-screen productions. It was founded in 2005, and is held in venues in New York City.

The festival sponsors the Independent Pilot Competition to showcase original television pilots to industry executives. NBC Universal, A&E, and Versus have all purchased pilots first demonstrated at the competition, while pilots have drawn attention from networks and production companies.

Besides the Competition, parties, seminars, and other events honor television as an institution and as an art form. It features a "Premiere Week" screening series, which now debuts new shows from networks including NBC, ABC, Fox, CBS, The CW, and HBO. It also sponsors Industry Day, in which television executives and policy-makers publicly discuss contemporary issues and future trends of the industry. Digital Day provides a forum for discussions and screenings of web series.
