New Scots

New Scots is a term used to describe people of any background who have immigrated to Scotland since the 1945 as modern immigrants.[1][2]

The term was primarily used to describe new immigrants (primarily of South Asian descent) who arrived in Scotland from the 1960s onwards. The term is also used to describe many immigrants from Eastern Europe who arrived after the 2004 enlargement of the European Union.
