Neurohop

Neurohop (also known as Neuro) is a genre of music that originated around mid 2011 to 2012. The music is characterized by its dark and aggressive atmosphere similar to neurofunk.

History

Neurohop originated from the subgenre of drum and bass, Neurofunk. Its origins can trace back to the person who coined the term, Kursa.[1]

Kursa is a music producer who created the term to describe his work. He created a 15-minute mix of 9 tracks that he had made, titling it "Let's call it Neurohop". This is the earliest known time that the word was used. The original has since been deleted, but was re-uploaded by Kursa to twine.fm.[2]
