The National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (Initials: NUCES and FAST-NU) is a private research university in Pakistan.[4][5] It has multiple campuses based in cosmopolitan cities of Pakistan and has distinction of being the first multi-campus university in Pakistan.[6]
It is consistently ranked among one of the leading and top institutions of higher learning in the country, securing its top rank in the computer sciences/IT category by the HEC in 2010.[7] its Engineering programs have been accredited with Pakistan Engineering Council.[8]
History
The Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST) was founded and established by BCCI financier Hasan Abidi that provided a large financial capital for university's purpose to promote research in computer sciences and emerging technologies in 1980. FAST later established National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in 2000.
Campuses
Karachi Campus
In 1984, FAST Karachi was founded with the efforts of many people but the name of Agha Hasan Abedi remains on top who did everything possible to make this dream a reality. FAST selected higher education as a vehicle to pursue its objective of producing scientists and technologists of the highest caliber. FAST pioneered the development of IT industry in Pakistan by offering the country’s first undergraduate program in Computer Science. Today, this University, sponsored by FAST, stands recognized as the leader and trend-setter in this field in Pakistan and abroad. Apart from the first FAST-NUCES campus at Shahrah e Faisal (for graduate studies), the flagship campus is located on a 6-acre site in Shah Latif Town on the National Highway, thirty kilometers east of Karachi airport. The campus has classrooms, laboratories, auditorium, seminar rooms, and a library.[9] Labs:[9]

Lahore Campus
The Lahore campus, on approximately 20 acres, is located in Faisal Town in greater Lahore. The campus consists of three blocks, built from brickwork and marble domes. It has open courts and grounds for outdoor games and recreational purposes. [10]

Chiniot-Faisalabad Campus
Situated at the junction of Pakistan’s industrial hub—Faisalabad and the historically rich city like lahore of Chiniot in suburbs of River Chenab, the Chiniot - Faisalabad campus is the 5th campus of the university. The campus symbolises the desirable connect between nature and industry and between tradition and modernity. Its picturesque surroundings in the outskirts of Pakistan’s Manchester, the home to textile industry, represent human advancement from agrarian to industrial and technological society. The campus is located on 10 acres of land on Faisalabad Chiniot Road (about 9 Km’s from Faisalabad Motorway interchange - towards Chiniot). The Campus has been established to carry forward the academic traditions of excellence in professional and personal aspects of the students. The aim is follow the footsteps of the alumnae of the 4 sister campuses in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar. Graduates of all sister campuses of this university are well-received by the industry and hold prominent positions in many national and multinational corporations. Events and festivals
Geek week
Geek even was held in FAST-NU Lahore.more than 1,000 students from all over the country are participating in the Geek Week 2016 at the FAST-National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), to promote the technology in the country.[36]
SOFTEC
SOFTEC is a two-day event organized every year at the Lahore campus of NUCES since 1995. It consists of competitions, including:

PROCOM
PROCOM is a two-day event organized every year at the Karachi campus of NUCES since 1998.
Procom 2017 led by Mr. Humble Imran as President is considered as the Best Edition due to its top notch management, designs and many other things.
PROCOM is the yearly flagship event of FAST-NUCES Karachi. It is an educational event which holds competitions in computer science, electrical and business studies.[37]
PROCOM hosts participants from all over Pakistan and FAST students themselves. Companies also participate ranging from software houses to career counseling firm to engineering giants. Scholars as well as professionals from various fields attend PROCOM as guests, observers and judges to witness the proficiency of the students.
NaSCon
NaSCon (National Solutions Convention) is one of the events that is organized annually by FAST Islamabad campus since 2001. NaSCon serves as a practical platform for developing Business and Technological Solutions and supporting a sustainable society. It is Pakistan's most successful student-run technology-centric mega event, and has received tremendous recognition over the decade from Pakistan's leading media powerhouses including Express News, Dawn, The News, Geo, ARY, and many others. The event comprises computer science, engineering and business competitions. Teams from all over the country participate. There are also entertainment events.[38][39]
NUTEC
NUTEC is a 3-day event organized. It was started back in 2009 but currently idle after 2014. However similar event was executed in 2015 by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government named Mega Challenge. [40][41]

It was a three day event organised by the students of Faisalabad-Chiniot campus. Participants from all over Pakistan attended this three days event. According to management, there were 3000 students who participated in the events.
