Nagpur Junction railway station is a railway station in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India.
History
Nagpur Junction railway station, one of the oldest and busiest Stations of Nagpur, was inaugurated in its present form on 15 January 1925 by the then Governor Sir Frank Sly.[2] The railways at Nagpur were established well before the independence of India. The initial lines were laid down in Nagpur in the year of 1867. Then, in 1881, Nagpur was linked up with another Indian City, Kolkata, via the railways of the state of Chhattisgarh.[3][2]
The original railway station of Nagpur was previously located east of the current site. The present-day railway station of Nagpur was also put up in the pre-independence days, established in 1924.

The close-situated Ajni is planned to be developed as a terminus and is also under consideration with a vision of diverting the traffic from the Nagpur railway station in the long run. A proposal to develop Ajni as a bus depot is also under way.[6][7]
