Nadoda Rajputs
The Nadoda are a Rajput community found the state of Gujarat, India. They are the sun of Vanaraja Chavda who was the most prominent king of the Chavda dynasty which ruled Gujarat from c. 746 CE to c. 780 CE.Nadoda Rajput are notable for their historic refusal to pay taxes to the sultans.
The Nadoda are said to have immigrated from Rajasthan about six hundred years. Their initial settlement was Mahsana District, and later they spread to other parts of Gujarat. Their name is said to originate from the word narvaya, which means defaulter, as the community are said to have defaulted on their taxes to the sultans of Gujarat. The community are now mainly peasant farmers, with a few are also pastoralists.

The Rajputs form an important element in the Hindu population of the state of Gujarat in India. They are also known as the Darbars, especially in the Kathiawar and Kutch regions. The word rajah putra literally means son of a king in Sanskrit.
Although the term Rajput only became common in the tenth century, a number of clans that later became known as Rajput rose to prominence in the 7th Century. The word Rajput literally means son of a king in the Sanskrit language. It was extended to cover any Hindu clan that ruled in west India. The regions that now form Gujarat have at various times been ruled by a number of dynnasties, all which from the 10th Century onwards claimed to Rajputs.
Several clans that rose to prominence in the 7th Century, such as the Parihar, Gohil, Dodiya, Chavda, Chauhan and Chavotake later came to be known as Rajput. The last major Rajputclan to settle inGujarat were the Jadejas, who arrived from Sindh. In addition to being divided into clans, the Rajputs are divided into two categories, the Rajput proper and the Girasia, who are known as Darbar in Saurashtra and Rajput in Kutch. In addition, there are also various allied groups such as theBavanGol, Gujjar, Karadia, Nadoda, Jinkara, Purbiya, Maiyaand Khant, and Vantia.
