Nogometni Klub Varaždin commonly referred to as Varaždin or simply Varaždin, is a Croatian football club, which plays in the town of Varaždin. They are currently playing in the Croatian Second Football League.
Varaždin ŠN was established in 2012 after a suspension of NK Varteks, a club which was suspended during the second part of the 2011–12 Prva HNL season, due to a high financial debt. Legally, the two clubs' track records and honours are kept separate by the Croatian Football Federation. However, in 2015 the club was changed his name to NK Varaždin, after was the old club renamed to VŠNK Varaždin and was going to bankruptcy. Since that, the new club are playing in the Croatian Third Football League.[1]
