N. V. N. Somu
N. V. N. Somu (died 14 November 1997) was an Indian politician and former Member of Parliament elected from Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Lok Sabha as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate from North Chennai constituency in 1984 and 1996 elections.[1][2]
Somu, who was the son of DMK leader N. V. Natarajan and married with a son and daughter, died in a helicopter crash while on central government business as Minister for Defence on 14 November 1997.[3] His daughter, S. N. Kanimozhi, has stood as a DMK election candidate.[4]
