Mysticons is an upcoming animated action television series planned for release in summer 2017.[1][2] The show will be a collaboration between companies Nelvana Limited, Playmates Toys, The Topps Company and Nickelodeon.[3] Sean Jara, who's written for the likes of shows such as Ben 10, Johnny Test, Degrassi: the Next Generation, Max Steel, Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5, and Inspector Gadget, created the show and will be Executive Story Editor and Producer.[3][4] It will be aimed towards girls. It was originally described as a series that aimed towards boys, but it changed demographics during development to instead target girls aged six and up.[1][4][5][5][6] The shift occurred due to Nickelodeon's interest in pursuing the girls market.[7]
Dark Horse Comics will publish a comic book series based on the series in summer 2018.[2]
Synopsis
Four girls are summoned to become the legendary heroes known as the Mysticons. They will undertake a quest to find the Codex.[5]

Main
- Arkayna Goodfey (voiced by Alyson Court) – Crown Princess and Mysticon Dragon Mage.
- Emerald Goldenbraid (voiced by Evany Rosen) – A dwarf nicknamed Em who works as the royal family's griffin wrangler and Mysticon Knight.
- Zarya Moonwolf (voiced by Nicki Burke) – An orphan who does her best to help other poor kids on the street and Mysticon Ranger.
- Piper Willowbrook (voiced by Ana Sani) – An elf orphan who follows along with Zarya to help poor people and Mysticon Striker.
Allies
- Dragon Disk (voiced by Julie Lemieux) – The ancient magical disk that assigns new Mysticons when the time comes.
- Malvaron (voiced by Mac Heywood) – A young astromancer who will magically train the Mysticons.
- Gawayne The Great (voiced by David Berni) – Arkayna's step-brother and the source of her frustrations.
- King Darius (voiced by Patrick McKenna) – Gawayne's father and Arkayna's step-father.
- Queen Goodfey (voiced by Linda Kash) – Arkayna's mother.
- Neeko (voiced by Cory Doran) – A homeless orphan who is friends with Zarya and Piper.

- Queen Necrafa – Deceased leader of the skeleton army.
- Baron Dreadbane (voiced by Mac Heywood) – Undead leader of the skeleton army that wants to steal the Dragon Disk from the Mysticons.

Broadcast
In the United States, Mysticons is set to premiere on Nickelodeon over a five day event starting August 28, 2017, before moving to its regular Sunday timeslot. Encores will also air on Nicktoons beginning August 30.[9] In Canada, the series will debut on YTV on September 3, 2017, and also run on Teletoon starting September 9.[10]
