My Thoughts is the debut studio album by American R&B singer-songwriter Avant. It was released on May 9, 2000, by MCA Records. The album includes the contributions from King Sesame, however, this person was not officially credited as a guest vocalist on the album. Three singles that were released from the album, became a top ten hits; including "Separated",[1] "My First Love" (which is a cover to its classic hit, performed by René & Angela) featuring Keke Wyatt,[2] and "This Time". Both songs, "My First Love" and "This Time", became a certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The album debuted at number 45 on the US Billboard 200 and number 8 on the Top R&B Albums, selling 41,675 copies in the opening week. Over a few months, after the album's official release, the album became a platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This project became one of the landmark album for Avant's career, when the album had sold 1.3 million copies in the United States and sold 4.4 million worldwide. The album has received generally positive reviews by critics.
