My Mr. Mermaid (Chinese: 浪花一朵朵) is a 2017 Chinese television series based on the novel of the same name by Jiu Xiao Qi (酒小七). It will air via Hunan TV starting 30 July 2017.[1]
Synopsis
Yun Duo is a rookie reporting who is in charge of following and reporting stories about the Annual Swimming Competition. She meets Tang Yibai, a swimming athlete who because of a mistake three years ago, is forbidden from swimming. In those three years, he studied hard and became a model student. While Yibai's best friends, star swimmers Qi Ruifeng and Ouyang Chen, are being swarmed by interviewers, he finds himself in an awkward but memorable interview with Yun Duo. After understanding what Yibai has gone through, Yun Duo encourages him to follow his dreams and accompanies him on his journey to restore his former glory.

Production
- The cast members underwent professional training and coaching from the China national swimming team; as well as a strict diet regime to realistically portray their scenes.[2][3][4]
- The series includes a guest appearance by Chinese Olympic athlete Sun Yang.[5]
- Filming commenced in January 2017 and wrapped up in May 2017.[6][7]
