Footnotes | Adjoining localities[1] |
Murray Town is a locality in the Mid North of South Australia east of the lower Flinders Ranges.[4] It was settled in 1883 and served as a rest stop for bullock and horse teams carting grain towards Port Germein from further north and east.[5]
The town was named for Alexander Murray, who introduced the Murray Merino sheep breed.[5]
The annual spring Murray Town Auction takes place late in September.[6][7][5]
