Early life and education
Saeed was on 17 August 1986.[1]
Reportedly, Saeed holds B.Sc. Honours degree in Environmental Sciences from University of Peshawar.[2]
In 2015, his B.Sc. honours degree in Environmental Sciences was challenged[3] after a student group accused him of passing three papers in one hour.[4] Following the controversy, Saeed approached the Peshawar High Court and told that he had attended University of Peshawar from 2005 to 2009 for his undergraduate degree and passed all his courses.[2] The University of Peshawar found marks certificate to be incorrect and fake[5] and said that Saeed's marks certificate does not have its official stamp and the three papers still needed to clear to get degree to obtain his BS Environmental Sciences degree.[3] It was reported that government's committee formed to resolve the issue later recommended to remove the vice chancellor of the University of Peshawar.[2]
In September 2008, his home in Swat was hit by a mortar shell which destroyed his home and injured his mother and brother.[2]
Political career
Saeed was the founder of Insaf Student Federation, the student wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa[2] and remained its central president for four years.[6]
Saeed was elected as the member of the National Assembly of Pakistan for the first time from NA-29 Swat in Pakistani general election, 2013 on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ticket.[7][8][2]
In 2015, The University of Peshawar asked the Peshawar High Court to disqualify Saeed from the membership of National Assembly for making a false declaration of his BS degree while filing nomination papers for the 2013 general elections.[9][10] Saeed obtained stay order from the court.[3]
In March 2017, a scuffle broke out between Saeed and Mian Javed Latif. Saeed reportedly assaulted Javed Latif outside the National Assembly building after Latif called Imran Khan a "traitor".[11][12][13][14][15] The issue was resolved later by the National Assembly Jirga.[16]
