Munchies (snack mix)
Munchies is a brand for American company Frito-Lay's line of snack mixes and a line of crackers with cheese. The mixes contain various Frito-Lay snacks.
Munchies Cheese Fix Snack Mix was introduced in 2001. In 2006 the name was changed from Munchies Classic Snack Mix. Random fact: The Munchies brand first hit the market in 1987 with Salted Peanuts and Honey Roasted Peanuts.
Varieties
The brand comes in the following varieties:[1][2]
- Cheese Fix: A mixture of Nacho Cheese Doritos, Cheetos, Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips, and Rold Gold pretzels. Formerly labeled "Classic". Labelled "Original" in Canada.[3]
- Flamin' Hot: A mixture of Salsa Flavored Doritos, Flamin' Hot Cheetos, Baja Picante Flavored Sun Chips, and Rold Gold pretzels.
- Totally Ranch: A mixture of Cool Ranch Doritos, Cheddar Ranch Fritos Twists, French Onion Sun Chips, and Rold Gold pretzels.
- Ultimate Cheddar: A mixture of Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal and crispy cereal pieces, Chester's Cheesy Bites crackers and Crunchy Bagel Chips, and Rold Gold pretzels.
- BBQ (Canada): A mixture of Smokey Red BBQ flavored Doritos, Cheetos, Fritos Hoops, and Rold Gold pretzels.[4]
- Reduced Fat (Canada): 25% less fat than the Original Snack Mix; contains Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal, Baked! Cheetos Crunchy Cheese Flavored Snacks, Sun Chips Multigrain Chips, and Rold Gold pretzels.[5]
- Kid's Mix: A mixture of snack foods that was aimed towards children, which was discontinued under the name brand of Munchies and is now sold under Quaker's brand as Snack Mix Kid's Mix. It contains Cap'n Crunch Cereal; Mini Rold Gold Classic Tiny Twists pretzels; Mini Doritos Nacho Cheesier Flavor Tortilla Chips; Smartfood Reduced Fat White Cheddar Cheese Flavored Popcorn; Cheetos Asteroids Cheese Flavored Snacks; and Candy Coated Chocolate Pieces.
