Muktijoddha Sangsad a non-political welfare association of the combatants during the War of Liberation formed on 13 February 1972.

History of formation

From the creation Pakistan,Bangladesh was a province of Pakistan,naming East Pakistan^ .But the rulers of Pakistan would suck East Pakistanis in every sphere. So Bangladeshis had to fight against them in 1971. But the main leader of Bangladeshi ,Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was in jail. For giving directions to the freedom fighters, the first Bangladesh Government Mujibnagar Government was formed in April 10, 1971. The president of the government was Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Because of his being in Jail, the vice president Syed Nazrul Islam became temporary president. The others were:

The government used to direct the freedom fighters. After 9 months' struggling, Bangladesh became independent on December 16, 1971. About 3 million[2] had died and about 0.3 million women had lost their virginity by the Hanadar forces. To save the reminiscence of the martyrs, An organization was needed to be formed. For this reason, Muktijoddha Sangsad was formed in February 13, 1972. The aim of the organization is to find out living freedom fighters and give them national recognition.
