Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology (MNS-UET) (Urdu: محمد نواز شریف یونیورسٹی آف انجینیئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی ملتان) is a higher education institute located in Multan, Pakistan. The University was established in 2012 on the initiative of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The major objective is to provide quality professional education in the southern region of Punjab province.
Programs
The University offers bachelor's degree in following Engineering and Technology programs:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Electrical Engineering (40 Seats: 38 seats for Higher Secondary School Certificate F.Sc) Pre-Engineering, 02 Seats for D.A.E. Electrical)
- Bachelor of Science Chemical Engineering (40 Seats: 38 seats for (F.Sc) Pre-Engineering, 02 Seats for Diploma of Associate Engineering Chemical)
- Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering Technology (40 Seats: 20 seats for (F.Sc) Pre-Engineering, 20 Seats for Diploma of Associate Engineering Civil)
- Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering Technology (40 Seats: 20 seats for (F.Sc) Pre-Engineering, 20 Seats for Diploma of Associate Engineering Mechanical)
All seats per annual admission are filled on the basis of open merit system. Entry Test conducted by University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore is a compulsory requirement for admission at the university.
Engineering programs in the fields of Mechanical and Civil, and Technology programs in the fields of Electrical and Chemical are expected to be launched in forthcoming years at MNS-UET.
MNS-UET Multan is a degree awarding Public Sector University.
As an interim measure, from August 7, 2012 to December 27, 2016, all activities of MNS-UET Multan were being managed by UET Lahore.
Campuses
The current campus of MNS UET is located in the premises of Government College of Technology (GCT), Qasimpur Colony, Near BCG Chowk, Bahawalpur Road, Multan.
A piece of land has been purchased by the Government of Punjab for the construction of new main campus of MNS-UET in near future. This piece of land consists of 210 acres and is situated near town Lar (لاڑ) on the same Bahawalpur Road (4.25 kilometers off the main highway, and to the east, near Chak 14/Faiz), National Highway N5, 21 kilometers away from the current campus.
Sports
MNS-UET Chalet of Sports [1] is a dynamic sports society for organizing games to gear up physical and mental fitness levels and activities of students and the faculty. Winter Games are usually played after the Mid-Exams of every Fall-Semester.
