Mouad Gouzrou is a Moroccan journalist and researcher, born in Marrakech in 1993. He is known for being the youngest journalist in Morocco, according to the MBC.[1][2]

Education

After his secondary education in economics, Mouad Gouzrou created a recruiting campaign for his own press website, delegating the writing of articles for his new team, before joining the National School of Management and Trade, where he earned his master's degree in marketing. During this period, he wrote articles himself in various media, including for Al-Jazeera and HuffPost Arabi among others.[3][4] Mouad Gouzrou also earned a diploma in Islamic studies from the Qatari capital Doha, while continuing to debate and defend the moderate Islam.[5]

Career

Before completing his high school studies, Mouad Gouzrou was employed for an art magazine in 2007 to become the youngest journalist in the Kingdom of Morocco. He worked there until 2008 in the field of musical concerts and promised to maintain the transparency of information in his country, by signing a partnership with a radio program to facilitate access to information, but this project did not achieve its goals.[6][7] He then moved into a wider area and became a writer in the economic, sports and political news, holding press interviews with several well-known personalities including the former Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane and his successor Saadeddine Othmani.[8] In addition to his position as a journalist, he has served as a keynote speaker in cultural events and international conferences such as TED, promoting entrepreneurship in Morocco. He has worked with many NGOs such as Transparency International and Lalla Salma Foundation for the Prevention and Treatment of Cancer. Mouad Gouzrou is a multilingual journalist, being fluent in Arabic, French, English, Spanish and Malay.

Awards

In 2008, Mouad Gouzrou was recognized for being the youngest journalist in the Kingdom of Morocco, in addition to being chosen by the national contest Maroc Web Awards, as the fourth most influential on the Moroccan Internet as for political and economic issues, competing with well-know Moroccan celebrities such as previous minister Ahmed Reda Chami.[9]
